How To Report A Car Parked In The Driveway Over 48 Hours To City Of Eugene

Parking a vehicle in a driveway for more than 48 hours in our neighborhood is a violation of City Of Eugene code (below). Violations may through to City of Eugene Code Compliance department (click here) at 541.682.5819, by email: codecompliance@ci.eugene.or.us (template below), or via and online form (click here). To have the greatest impact:

  • Cite the code: 9.6745 7 (a) 3 (see below)
  • Provide specific dates that a vehicle has been parked
  • License plate number
  • Make and model of the vehicle
  • If possible, provide photographs
  • Consider reporting in person at Code Compliance – this has the greatest impact

Somerset Hills VIII is zoned as Low Density Residential by the City Of Eugene. From the City Of Eugene Zoning Code:

9.6745 7 (a) 3: Within the required front yard setback, recreational vehicles, boats, boat trailers, and other vehicles not in daily use, may only be parked on the paved driveway portion of the required front yard setback. No parking shall occur in the landscaped portion of the required front yard setback. These vehicles not in daily use, are allowed to park in the front setback for not more than 48 consecutive hours.
